Abstract. The article is devoted to the analysis of the influence of youth musical preferences on the formation of all-Russian identity. The relevance of the study is driven by expanding the accessibility of music content through streaming platforms, which enhances youth self-regulation in selecting cultural codes and may contribute to both the strengthening and erosion of traditional identities. The theoretical framework draws on P. Bourdieu’s concept of the space of lifestyles and R. Peterson’s theory of cultural omnivorousness. The empirical basis is a questionnaire survey of 1,200 respondents aged 16–35 from Krasnodar Krai (2026). Using the methods of logistic regression and the Random Forest algorithm, the research establishes that Russian pop music serves as a stable predictor of strengthening all-Russian identity, while foreign rock, indie/alternative, and K-pop weaken it. The authors conclude that musical objects function as polyvalent markers of identity in the context of digitalization.
